No Candidates from RCA

Synod 2007 said that Christian Reformed churches may not call candidates from the seminaries of the Reformed Church in America (RCA).

RCA and CRC pastors may be called to each other’s denominations without undergoing additional education or classical exams. But synod said the exchange of pastors is a distinctly different process from the exchange of new ministry candidates.

Synod refused to grant RCA candidates exemption from the abbreviated ecclesiastical training that candidates from other seminaries must attain at Calvin Theological Seminary before being eligible for ministry in the CRC.
