Christian Reformed World Missions is the global evangelism arm of the Christian Reformed Church. World Missions leads the church to respond obediently to our Lord’s commission to witness to the good news of God’s kingdom and to make disciples of all nations.
World Missions helps CRC congregations in North America vigorously participate in Spirit-led mission with other churches and Christian organizations throughout the world. More than 200 people are serving in 23 countries through and with World Missions. What’s New
Through the 2006 Summer Missions Program (SMP), 39 students were able to experience and participate in what God is doing through the Christian Reformed Church in other countries.
World Missions welcomed more than a dozen men and women into career-missionary service. They will go out to create new Christian networks and share the gospel with people who have not yet heard the message of Jesus.
In the task of leading and enabling the CRC in its global mission, World Missions recognizes the blessings that come in working with other members of the body of Christ. Wycliffe Bible Translators was among the organizations that joined World Missions this year in a partnership to spread the Word to many people and in many languages. Other partner organizations include
- International Theological Education Ministries
- The Bible League
- East-West Ministries in Russia
- Haitian Partners for Christian Development
- Christian Academy in Japan
- The National Presbyterian Church of Mexico
- United Bible Societies
- Association of UNELA in Costa Rica
- TEKAN in Nigeria
Internally, World Missions is in a period of growth. The CRWM Board approved a restructuring of staff positions in order to better meet the goals and objectives that flowed out of the agency’s new mission, vision, and values statements. Most of these changes were put into effect on July 1 and are already having a positive influence on the work and planning of World Missions.
