Singer-songwriter Justin Gambino provides listeners with his first collection of worship songs with the EP Garden of the Lord. Known for a more uptempo style, Gambino turns to a mellow sound with this record and its country feel. “The inspiration for this project came from my testimony,” Gambino says in a release. “As I began telling my story publicly—one that had been buried for so long—I felt as though I was walking through a neglected garden. Looking back on my life became an invitation from the Lord to walk with me through the garden of my heart and tend to the places that had gone dormant over the years.” The EP features six songs including the title cut concentrating on thankfulness for peaceful pastures and still water renewal. “Depend on You (All I Need)” was written during a time of infertility for Gambino and his wife. Two other selections include “Let Me Not Forget,” remembering Jesus’ death, and “Focus,” centering the focus on God’s heart and goodness. This is a peaceful recording with powerful lyrics.
