“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” —1 Thess. 5:16-18
I cannot thank You, Lord, for all I see.
The world is broken, brimmed with loss and pain.
How can I thank and praise continually?
How does one trace the rainbow through the rain?
The world is broken, yes—but beauty, too,
Is here. The good, the true are also near.
These things run deeper, sourced and shared by you.
You scatter them like pearls, luminous and clear.
More: You are close through every stormy swell.
You, giver of all good, are greatest gift!
Your presence changes hearts and makes us well;
In turn, we share your love. The balance shifts.
As we learn how to live with open hands,
We feel your joy. With gentle wings, it lands.
