Jeff Kruithof took the reins as executive director of Youth Unlimited this August when Rachael Cooley, director for the past three years, transitioned out of the position.
Youth Unlimited is part of Dynamic Youth Ministries, an organization that provides training and materials for Christian Reformed youth ministries such as Cadets, GEMS, and high school youth groups.
Kruithof is a native of Holland, Mich., where he, his wife, Lisa, and three daughters attend Providence Christian Reformed Church. Kruithof said he participated in Youth Unlimited (then Young Calvinist) conventions as a student. He never dreamed he would attend this year as its incoming director.
Kruithof graduated from Calvin College with a bachelor’s degree in social work and has spent the past 11 years as a staff member of Youth for Christ, most recently as an assistant director. He said his goal in that ministry was to partner with local churches to see young people accept Christ and become part of the church.
“The mission of Youth Unlimited fits so well with what God has been doing in my life and ministry over the past 11 years,” said Kruithof. “I see this as a challenge and an opportunity to step out of the boat and put my complete faith and trust in God, because I know it’s more than I could handle alone.”
