Indiana Church Celebrates 100 Years

| |

First Christian Reformed Church of Highland, Ind., is celebrating its 100th birthday with events throughout the year.

Members kicked off the birthday year with a New Year’s Eve service. Three present and two former pastors spoke at a formal dinner on April 26, and a rededication service was held on April 27. A family reunion picnic August 23 and a congregational Thanksgiving meal will complete the year of celebration.

The church was organized in 1908 by members of Munster CRC who lived in the Highland area. Beacon Light CRC of Gary, Ind., and Second CRC of Highland are both daughter churches of First CRC.
