Churches Make Most of Farm Implement Parade

Each year when the Lighted Farm Implement Parade is held in Sunnyside, Wash., members of Sunnyside Christian Reformed Church are on hand to warm hands and hearts. Sunnyside folks, along with members of Iglesia Evangelica, the bilingual congregation that shares the same building, hand out free coffee and hot chocolate, providing warmth on a cold December night.

The beverages get snatched up quickly, as do the pamphlets, printed in Spanish and English, welcoming all to attend services at the church. The much-anticipated parade features trucks, cars, and assorted farm implements festooned with twinkling lights and other decorations. It was highlighted in the top-10 of cable station A&E’s special presentation “Ultimate Holiday Town USA.”
