Before he entered the ministry, French Reformed pastor Jean-Christophe Robert was a professional oboist. Thankfully, Robert has kept his oboe playing active even as he now ministers in Stockholm, a duo-career cleverly captured in the album’s cover photograph. A double-reed instrument, the oboe is among the most difficult to play on pitch with a warm, musical tone. Robert makes it sound effortless.
