Jun 4, 2012 — For special music on Mother’s Day, Hollandale (Minnesota) Christian Reformed Church turned to Jean Nienoord, 93, her daughter Betty Nienoord, granddaughter Lenette Baron, and great-granddaughter Lydia Baron.
The four women sang “On Christ the Solid Rock I Stand.” Even though they live close to each other, this was only the second time the women had sung together publicly.
“Fellow church members realize how unique it is that Jean is still so well and appreciated that she was willing to sing,” said Sylvia Zevenbergen, the organist who accompanied the women. “That appreciation was instantaneous—lots of clapping!”
