When Nancy Leistra of North Hills Christian Reformed Church in Troy, Mich., started losing her hair while going through chemotherapy treatments, the women of her church donned hats as a show of support. The congregation also supported Leistra by providing rides to her daily treatments and holding a “Support Nancy Potluck.” Leistra said the hat day buoyed her spirits through the next week of exhausting treatments.
