Several hundred neighbors of First Christian Reformed Church in Ripon, Calif., flocked to the church’s California Cruizin’ fair in August.
The fair introduced people to the church and invited them to enroll their children in an evening vacation Bible school program.
Co-chairpersons of the event were Cindy Van Duyn and Judy Van Groningen, but it took most of the church’s members to set up and run the many games and booths. Brad Jacobsma, who helped give horseback rides to kids, said, “If we touched any unchurched people with a desire to worship with us, it was worth all the effort.”
