Ages by River Valley AGES

River Valley AGES, the youth band of River Valley Church in Minneapolis, Minn., released its debut album, “Ages” with the hope of encouraging young believers everywhere. “We want the story behind AGES, the music of AGES, and every moment we share to inspire people to follow whatever it is that they are feeling called to, in boldness and faith,” said the band in a release. As the band wrote the music, its intentions included reaching people who don’t have a relationship with Jesus and those who might possess a negative perception of faith. The  recording contains 12 tracks and features a spirited sound with some softer moments. The song, “Ask, Seek and Pray,” offers submission as the chorus states, “I’m wholly surrendered; Lord, do what you will in me; Just make me your vessel; This life as an offering.” “Prodigal” is a cry of dependence on the Lord, whereas “From a Long Way Off” quiets one’s soul with a beautiful piano instrumental. This music will certainly appeal to the young and maybe even those who are young at heart. (BEC Recordings)
