Singer, song-writer and worship leader Patrick Mayberry encourages the church with his engaging “Holy Spirit Come” EP (extended play). “I pray that they (the songs) meet people right where they are in their journey with faith and the Lord…,” he said in a release. “That they would continue to shape and transform how they view themselves and God while pointing to how God views them – as his kids who he’s crazy about.” The music is high energy and the words are hopeful. The title cut is the crown jewel of the project, including good old rocking guitars and substantial lyrics. The second verse states, “We’re on the edge of a new beginning; God, we know You have so much more; We’re looking to a new horizon; We’re praying for your rain to pour; An overflow of true redemption; An overflow for a real revival; O Holy Spirit.” Another strong tune, “Our God is Coming Back,” highlights the redemption of all things. Although this record marks Mayberry’s fifth, he is still a relatively new artist in the Christian market. But his music offers listeners thematic substance and engaging music. (Centricity Music)
