Rebekah Lyons, popular speaker and author of You Are Free and Freefall to Fly, reveals her own story of stress, anxiety, and panic attacks as she offers readers a new path to a lifetime of peace and health. “Have you found yourself trapped in fear? Feelings of unworthiness? Rejection? Loneliness? Depression? Isolation? Restlessness or boredom?” she asks. Lyons answers with four rhythms that provide renewal for weary souls: Rest, Restore, Connect, Create. Rest includes taking inventory of priorities, confession, ensuring deep sleep, and practicing Sabbath; while Restore includes making space for play, walking, workout, and pushing past labels. Connect encourages readers to initiate friendships, practice hospitality, and help carry each other’s burdens; and Create moves into recovering your life passion, working with your hands, and taking risks. Each chapter includes three Reflection Questions to help apply each rhythm. Lyons is open about her struggles and joys, including adopting her daughter Joy, and takes readers with her as she implements each rhythm into her life. Rhythms, she says, are important to “my emotional, relational, physical, and spiritual health. … They are the very thing that helped me come alive.” Readers will find challenge, encouragement, love, and life lessons in the pages of Lyons’ book, and are sure to come away with new ways to live a life of purpose and peace.
