Christian music staple Tenth Avenue North offers a freeing record with its sixth album, “No Shame.” Frontman Mike Donehey described the theme of the project in a press release: “Healthy shame is actually the necessary feeling you have when you realize you’re not God and you have limitations. That feeling of shame is actually a gift from God. Toxic shame is that voice that cries out, ‘unredeemable.’” Songs on the record include personal struggles the band members have faced. “Greater Than All My Regrets” was penned based on Donehey’s battle to be available at home and not out on the road too much. “Someone to Talk to” is a cry for a safe place to be honest and vulnerable, whereas “Paranoia” tackles not letting the negative media news consume a person. The overall music is a solid combination of pop and ballads with a dance-type tune included in the mix. The simple fact remains: Tenth Avenue North makes music that resonates with listeners.
