Three-time Dove Award-winner Chris August returns with a joyful, fun EP (extended play record), Seasons. The eight-song effort is August’s first since 2015 and his first independent record in 10 years.
He explores dependence on—and relationship with—God without being preachy. He performs soulful pop with interesting rhythm and guitar elements. The first radio single, “Nothing’s Beyond Broken,” relates the message that God can take something or someone broken and make it beautiful. The song “Worry” reminds listeners that God holds them in his hand.
August said that he wanted to “encourage, inspire, and challenge people” with Seasons; he definitely accomplishes these goals. Listeners might find themselves tapping their toes and singing along. (After August Music)
