David Crowder offers listeners a bountiful buffet with his latest project, American Prodigal. Crowder serves up some rock, country, bluegrass, and a touch of gospel on the 17-track deluxe edition, and the album is bound to garner some top industry awards.
This Baylor University alum is extremely talented, and his music is rich. It’s a joy to hear such variety in instrumentation. The first single of the album, for example, “Run Devil Run,” features the unique sound of a steel guitar. As in past projects, Crowder centers on the redemption theme: the hope of eternal life for believers and God’s offer of salvation to nonbelievers. (sixstepsrecords)
