Saints and Sinners by Matt Maher

Sometimes a musical artist becomes known for a signature song. Canadian-born Matt Maher may have found that piece with his rendition of “Because He Lives (Amen).” The chart-friendly song appears on Maher’s latest CD,Saints and Sinners, but that might be the cake—there is plenty of icing too.
This is a solid work filled with reflection, hope, and grace. Musical styles include folk, country, and a little rock. The song “Glory Bound” offers grace to the downtrodden as well as a catchy, rock-filled tune.

Maher wrote all the songs with the assistance of some popular Christian songwriters, including Jason Ingram, Bill and Gloria Gather, David Crowder, and Matt Redman. In the end, this is an album for both the sinner and the saint in all of us. (Essential)
