I Win is the first album for the Grand Rapids, Mich., singer since the death of his wife, MaLinda, in 2010. Sapp worked through his grief by putting all of himself into the music he knows best—gospel that encourages. In the title track “I Win” and in “My Testimony,” Sapp goes back to his signature vocal style, using his growling voice and testimonial lyrics to reach anyone who needs a musical hand up.
