The year 1951 was a big church-planting year for the Christian Reformed Church in North America. Seventeen different congregations begun in that year are celebrating their 75th anniversaries in 2026, including Wallaceburg (Ont.) CRC.

Wallaceburg pastor Tim Leferink said the congregation enjoyed “a wonderful weekend of reconnection and celebration” that included a Saturday open house, an evening meal, and a Sunday “celebration service of how God moves his church, with participation from former pastors Jim Poelman and Josh Tuininga.”
Leferink said about 140 people attended the Saturday evening dinner, and the afternoon open house included “activities for the kids—face painting, bouncy castles and games, displays of the earlier years, and a really cool mural that everyone in the church had a chance to participate in.”
“Overall, it was a great weekend of remembering the past and looking into the future,” Leferink said. “We are so thankful to the many hands who helped to bring it all to fruition.”
