Silence is the only requirement at a retreat hosted by Centrepointe Community Christian Reformed Church in Edmonton, Alberta.

Rev. Ron Klok and his congregation organize the annual retreat with Heather Cowie of New Hope CRC in Calgary, Alberta, and churches from other denominations.

Silence is honored from Friday night to Sunday at 3 p.m.

This year marked the fourth retreat, which averages 10 to16 participants and has sold out every time. Pictured here are attendees of this year’s retreat.

Norm Noordhof of Woodynook CRC in Lacombe, Alberta, said, “One can just simply think more deeply and thoroughly about God, about his world, about life, about relationships when there are no distractions.”
