Through the lens of her Christian faith, author Ronne Rock tells stories of women of the Bible and current women from different cultures and countries who followed God’s leading and were transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit to bring change to their communities and beyond.

Rock relates how her view of leadership and her place in God’s world were changed through meeting women in the United States and other countries who followed a leadership style diametrically opposed to her own: “I had wanted to give the women my expert advice, my marketing genius, my quick-fix plans to solve problems. And all they asked for was my time. They knew true leadership had to be relational to be transformational. And yet they weren’t trying to be leaders. They were simply taking one step and then the next.”

Rock began to realize that God’s will for our lives is simply that we love God and we love people. That implies embracing a leadership style that does not seek success, fame, or being in control. Rather, as Miss Mary, one of Rock’s friends, said, “God does not need you to become big for him. He wants you to do his work. He will build the stage on which you should stand and give you the people who will hear what he wants you to say.”

With candid vulnerability, Rock shares her own story of brokenness and transformation. Her hope is that her book will help her female audience understand that within God’s gracious, expansive, redemptive design, everything they have experienced is “purposeful and meaningful.” (Revell)
