In this first episode of The Banner Synod Recap, host Lora Copley talks with guest Nate Van Denend about the officers chosen for the Christian Reformed Church’s Synod 2026, what the officers’ roles are, and what to look forward to at this year’s annual gathering.
Van Denend was Synod 2025’s president pro-tem. The two share their experiences of previous synods and consider how past officers have seen their roles. Then they look ahead to Synod 2026, discussing the people chosen as officers as well as the topics coming up for discussion and decision this year.
