Rev. Gerard (Jerry) Dykstra is the nominee for executive director of the Christian Reformed Church in North America. Dykstra, 56, will be interviewed by the denomination’s Board of Trustees in May, and subsequently by Synod 2006 in June before his appointment is finalized.
Dykstra was a pastor in the CRC for 15 years, many of them spent in Walnut Creek, Calif. Last summer he was appointed the denomination’s director of denominational ministries.
Dykstra and his wife, Linda, live in Byron Center, Mich., and belong to Ivanrest CRC, Grandville, Mich.
