The musical series A Week Away follows youth at a Christian summer camp called Camp Aweegaway. It’s based on the popular 2021 Netflix film of the same name. The camp offers its share of unique characters: Max (Antonio Cipriano), a foster kid who is a camp project; Lennie, a bubbly believer who develops a relationship with Max; Karla (Leigh-Allyyn Baker), the owner of the camp by inheritance who oozes deception; Savannah (Ava Jean), Karla’s daughter who exhibits her mother’s traits; and David (David Koechnher), the bubbling camp director. The series opens with flashbacks of little Max in a violent home environment and then traces his life in episodes of him having problems trusting others, questioning why a good God allows bad things to happen, and eventually encountering God. The seven episodes draw you in with compelling storylines of youth dealing with life questions and present and past pain. It features high-energy music and dancing, as well as the joys of youth simply being youth. It’s a story of God's grace, redemption, and the youthful campers’ commitment to him.
