Kara Tippetts was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 36; she has spent the last few years fighting the disease as it showed up in new and ever more frightening places. She’s written about her experience over the years on her blog, Mundane Faithfulness. In her recent book,The Hardest Peace, she bears witness openly and honestly about what God has done in her life before the illness and what it has been like for her to face this disease.
Like most mothers, she has dreams for her young children, including knowing them as adults, and she wants more time with the husband she loves. Kara expresses her sadness at the end that will come, her joy in the moments she has, and her faith in the grace of Christ that will carry her and her family in the coming days.
Especially poignant as she has since entered hospice care and is no longer fighting the spread of cancer, her story is heartbreaking, beautiful, and full of hope. (David C. Cook)
